Compassion, Attention, Response and Empathy (CARE)

The CARE Committee’s name describes its purpose. The group is dedicated to developing a caring community of faith where spiritual growth is enhanced through Compassion, Attention, Response and Empathy, focused on the varied physical, emotional and spiritual needs of church members and constituents. The activities carried out by this energetic group also help to build and strengthen connections.

Every summer, the Care Committee hosts an old fashioned Summer Ice Cream Social to help build connections.

Currently the committee is updating the Church Directory and revising the Telephone Tree that provides emergency or other important information to everyone within a short time period. Every summer, the Care Committee hosts an old fashioned Summer Ice Cream Social to help build connections. Cards recognizing special life events are sent to individuals, and flowers extend sympathy upon deaths of members, constituents or their immediate families. Committee members are always available to join the pastor for home visits to persons who may be homebound and would benefit from individual attention. Persons who have ideas for new activities the CARE Committee can undertake are encouraged to share those possibilities with the group.
